Weekend Review – July 7-9 2017

This weekend was quite busy.

Friday night, I went to dinner at African Palace on Bloor. I tried the meat platter, the platter is served with injera and salad. The platter we selected was very interesting, we tried beef tibs [served with sauteed onions, tomatoes & peppers in awaze sauce] and ye-beg alicha [lamb and carrots cooked in turmeric sauce]. I’ve never tried Ethiopian food, so this was a very new and exciting.

On Saturday, I decided started the morning with a quick stop at shoppers @  Runnymede. Honestly, this is the best beauty boutique in the city. It’s so beautiful and they have such a large selection of high end make up. Previously the location was a theater and they really used it to their advantage.

Afterwards, I grabbed a coffee from GetLit [Runnymede]

After getting some coffee I headed to Insomnia (on Bloor) for brunch. I tried the classic Eggs Benedict. This was by far the best brunch I’ve ever had. The home fries are personally my favorite. This is a must try brunch stop.

Afterwards, my friend and I decided to hit up Orfus Rd for some outlet shopping. If you like shopping but have a strict budget this is the road you need to be on. I bought 5 outfits that cost me under $50.00. On weekends however, the shops close very early.

On Sunday, my friends and I decided to check out the Salsa on St.Clair. It was incredibly packed but the vibes were just right.

Dancing in the street is so much fun, especially when your surrounded by good company & food.

I tried fried plantain for the first time and it was pretty good. Especially since my friend was craving it all weekend, I now know why!

I hope you had a great weekend also, make sure you keep up to date with what i’m doing/working on by following my on instagram
